Processing Your Inbox
For each item in your inbox you'll want to:
- If it will take less than two minutes, just do it
- Add clarity
- Make it actionable
- Ask "What's the next step to move this forward?"
- Categorize it and add reminders
Day book
- YTB (Yesterday, Today, Blockers)
- What did I do yesterday?
- What will I do today?
- What's getting in my way?
- A great blank space for notes each day
Weekly/Monthly
- Checking in on larger projects
- Analyze your own performance
- Setting goals for the next increment
Habit Stacking
- Take advantage of current habits
- After I make coffee I process my inbox
- Incremental daily progress = exponential growth
- After inbox processing I read 3 pages
Environment
- Your environment shapes your behavior
- Separate work and play if possible
- Simplify your desktop, phone, etc to limit chaos
Time Management
- Live by your calendar
